Air passenger complaints to the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) have reached more than 57,000, reaching a new high, reports say. The data reveals that the CTA, on average, has faced more than 3,000 complaints per month over the past year, with the current amount coming in at more than three times the total recorded in September last year.

Change was in the air on Thursday (Sept. 14) as ACTA – now known as The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors – kicked off its summit series in Toronto, welcoming more than 500 attendees. Ottawa's policy on loan repayment changed as the event unfolded, while Wendy Paradis, ACTA's president, revealed a new name for the association.

Major changes are coming to the way Delta Air Lines SkyMiles members earn status starting in 2024 for flying in 2025. The airline will soon emphasize dollars spent – not miles flown – in calculating member rewards. Starting Jan. 1, Medallion Qualifying Dollars will be the only metric that counts when it comes to earning elite frequent flyer status.

The Canadian government will extend the repayment deadline for its small business pandemic loan program – the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) – by one year. But businesses will lose the forgivable portion of the loan if they don't repay it in the coming months.
