H.I.S.-Red Label Vacations Inc. has announced executive promotions. Diane Lattavo has been named chief air commercial officer, while Sam Youssef takes the role of SVP, marketing and partnerships. Elvi Cal is now SVP, product and commercial, while Mike Miljak returns as chief information officer. Domenic Maggi, senior director of IT Operations, will oversee all IT departments.

Union fighting Air Canada Jazz layoffs in Newfoundland & Labrador

Unifor is fighting Air Canada's decision to lay off more than 50 Jazz members in Newfoundland and Labrador as the airline makes changes to its services in Gander, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Deer Lake. Starting Nov. 1, PAL Airlines will be the new service provider under the Air Canada Express banner, and not solely Halifax-based Jazz Aviation, which currently holds the contract.
