Travel Leaders Network has announced it will be hosting three complementary in-person regional events this fall. Taking place Oct. 17-25 in Edmonton, Vancouver and Mississauga, each event will allow guests to interact with supplier partners, connect with peers, and learn about agency-enhancing programs and new technology benefits.

Transat announced yesterday (Aug. 31) the completion of the sale of its land in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. The property was sold for US$38 million to Finest Resorts, a luxury resort group that is part of the Excellence Collection and owns and operates Finest Playa Mujeres, in Cancun, Mexico, and Finest Punta Cana, in Dominican Republic.

Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos is set to open its new spa in late 2023. The spa, located in the state of Baja California Sur, will have four treatment rooms, two of which are dedicated to couples’ treatments and one with a jacuzzi and oceanfront views.

The Vancouver International Airport has launched a new tool to help travellers get to their gates on time. Called YVR TimeLine, passengers can scan a QR code at the terminal, enter their flight number and the system will identify if they are at risk of missing their flight.

Hurricane Idalia left Florida and other surrounding states devastated yesterday (Aug. 30) after making landfall near Keaton Beach at 7:45 a.m. As a high-end Category 3 hurricane, its maximum sustained winds reached 125 mph (205 kph), tearing roofs off buildings, splitting trees and leaving roads flooded in its wake.
