The labour conflict between WestJet and its pilots’ union, the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), is intensifying a possible strike this Friday that has travellers scrambling ahead of the Victoria Day long weekend. The airline has posted a Q&A to address some of the questions its customers may have.

Air Canada and flydubai have partnered to give customers flying between Canada, the Middle East, East Africa, Indian Subcontinent and Southern Asia more travel options. Pending regulatory approval, Air Canada's marketing code will be placed on nine routes operated from Dubai by flydubai, giving customers the ability to travel further on a single ticket.

In an effort to help travellers impacted by the possible WestJet pilots' strike this Friday (May 19), Flair Airlines confirmed Tuesday (May 16) that it has added extra flights between Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton beginning this holiday long weekend. The first of the additional flights depart May 19, 2023, according to a press release.

New ship Carnival Venezia, which will debut "Carnival Fun Italian Style," has added departures from Port Canaveral, Fla. as the ship heads south for winter of 2024-25 before returning to New York in the spring of 2025. Venezia will reposition from New York with a 12-Day Southern Caribbean Carnival Journeys Cruise that departs on Dec. 6, 2024.

Atlas Ocean Voyages says 18 expeditions for World Voyager are now open for reservations, the third vessel in the line’s Explorer Class expedition fleet. Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection is expanding its footprint in Greece with the announcement of Zoëtry Halkidiki. The all-inclusive luxury resort is expected to open in mid-2024, according to a press release on Monday (May 15). The property, which signals Hyatt’s brand growth in Europe, will feature 105 rooms and suites, including swim-out options.

Seabourn says its expedition ships, Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit, will be equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity with SpaceX’s Starlink. Venture was the first ship in the Seabourn fleet to offer the Wi-Fi connection, beginning with its May 12, 2023 voyage, just in time for the ship’s second Arctic season.
