Normal air traffic operations are resuming across the United States following an overnight outage to the Notice to Air Missions system that provides safety info to flight crews, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says. Earlier, flights were grounded and delayed across the U.S. after the FAA said its NOTAM system had "failed."

Riverside Luxury Cruises has acquired four more former Crystal Cruises river ships – MS Bach, MS Ravel, MS Mahler and MS Debussy. The move builds the fleet for the German start-up company, which acquired Crystal Mozart – which has been renamed Riverside Mozart – in November 2022.

Niall Gibbons, chief executive of Tourism Ireland, will be stepping down from his role this April after 21 years with the company - 14 years as chief executive. Gibbons has played a part in every aspect of the promotion of the island of Ireland as a tourism destination overseas since the set-up of Tourism Ireland after the Belfast Agreement of Good Friday 1998.

The index ranks all the world's 199 passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.

Air Canada, WestJet and Sunwing have been invited to testify about the disruptions that overwhelmed Canada’s holiday travel season. MPs on Monday (Jan. 9) voted to launch a study into the treatment of air and rail passengers following the winter storms that disrupted flights. The committee will hear from passenger advocates and impacted travellers starting Thursday (Jan. 12)
