Canadians will be able to apply to renew their passports online starting this fall, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said Wednesday (May 10). Applicants will be able to upload their necessary documents and passport photo on a secure government website, according to reports. People who are applying for new passports, however, will still need to go the traditional route.

Hilton is growing its all-inclusive portfolio with the signing of a management deal to welcome the first all-inclusive Curio Collection property in the Dominican Republic. In a major victory, Travel Leaders Group, LLC has won the right to use the Travel Leaders trademark in Canada, capping a six-year legal battle. The Federal Court of Canada, in a decision handed down March 8, determined that the Travel Leaders trademark registration had been abandoned and should be canceled, according to a press release issued on Tuesday (May 9).

Virgin Voyages’ third ship, Resilient Lady, has arrived in Athens, Greece. The ship, debuting on May 14, will cruise a seven-night MerMaiden voyage as part of the "Greek Island Glow" itinerary, which departs from Athens and includes stops in Santorini, Rhodes, Bodrum and an overnight in Mykonos before returning to Athens.

Playa Hotels and Resorts is celebrating top-performing travel advisors this week in Mexico at “All Stars 2023,” a fun-focused learning and networking event taking place at the new Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya, an adults-only, all-inclusive resort near Playa del Carmen. "We are in growth mode,” Amanda Morris, Playa’s director of sales for Canada, told PAX, which is covering the event on location.

WestJet is trying to “set the record straight” after some 300 of its pilots in Calgary and up to 800 in Vancouver and Toronto picketed outside of airports on Monday (May 8) as negotiations between the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) and the airline continue to stall. In a company statement yesterday, WestJet said its mainline pilots are amongst the “best paid pilots in Canada.”
