Optimism for new beginnings was a theme last night (May 5) at Air Canada’s spring celebration, which saw travel advisors, corporate customers, tourism partners and other travel pros gather at the Ricarda's Atrium in downtown Toronto. Lucie Guillemette, Air Canada’s EVP and CCO, described the event as “an opportunity for all of us to celebrate the return of travel.”

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority has launched a bespoke accommodations program to showcase 400-plus smaller accommodation properties in Saint Lucia. Collection de Pépites features B&Bs, boutiques, inns and luxury villas, and the aim is to introduce travellers to properties that have 35 rooms or fewer, which may not be as well-known.

Accor is accelerating its expansion in the all-inclusive market with the launch of its global All-Inclusive Collection – an arm that will see the group build upon the success of the Rixos brand. As well, Accor is “significantly expanding” its all-inclusive offering by including its premium brands with Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Swissôtel and Mövenpick in the Collection.

The “Is Flair Canadian?” saga continues with The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) issuing an update to its investigation, saying that it will unveil final decision about the Edmonton-based airline on June 1. Flair is currently embroiled in a licence review from the CTA, which believes the carrier may be controlled by U.S. investors in violation of Canadian law.
