Jamaica’s premier destination wedding and romance conference returns this weekend as wedding professionals, travel advisors, and brides and grooms are invited to attend the annual Jamaica Bridal Expo.
Hosted at the Montego Bay Convention Centre from Sept 9-10, the two-part event brings together hundreds of the island’s top event venues, resorts and wedding vendors for a series of educational presentations and romance-themed activities designed to engage both trade and consumer audiences.
On Sept. 9, the Jamaica Wedding Conference will feature live presentations by wedding and travel industry professionals from Jamaica and North America.
Speakers will provide attendees with valuable strategies and resources for planning and executing a successful Jamaican destination wedding experience.
Canadian travel advisors are invited to tune into the sessions during the live broadcast at www.jamaicabridalexpo.com or view the recorded presentations at their leisure following the event.
The conference schedule will include 10 expert presenters, including Philip Rose, Regional Director, Jamaica Tourist Board; Marsha-Ann Donaldson-Brown, Director of Weddings & Romance, Sandals Resorts International; Nicola Madden-Greig, Group Director of Marketing & Sales, Courtleigh Hospitality Group; and Angela Proffitt, founder of luxury event and wedding planning consultancy GSD Creative.
“Jamaica is a destination synonymous with romance. Weddings are a key economic driver for our tourism sector with thousands of visitors coming to island each year for weddings and honeymoons,” said Donovan White, director of tourism at Jamaica Tourist Board. “The annual Bridal Expo provides event planners, travel advisors and betrothed couples with a fantastic opportunity to connect with some of the island’s top wedding vendors.”
During the consumer Bridal Expo on Sunday (Sept. 10), couples who are considering tying the knot in Jamaica will have the chance to meet with on-island vendors and wedding planners while enjoying an array of live entertainment and activities.
Consumer programming will include a bridal fashion showcase, makeup demonstrations, giveaways, and musical performances from internationally renowned singer Tricia Lee Kelshall and classical cellist Jose Carlos Oxamendi Vicet.
“Travel advisors specializing in destination weddings and honeymoons won’t want to miss this year’s Jamaica Bridal Expo,” said Angella Bennett, regional director, Canada at Jamaica Tourist Board. “We encourage our Canadian retail partners to tune into this year’s event programming to hear from a variety of wedding industry experts who can help agents plan an unforgettable romantic getaway for their clients.”
