The Israel Ministry of Tourism is celebrating the holiday season by offering home-bound travellers the opportunity to create a personalized Israel Christmas Postcard to send to friends and family.
All users need to do is fill out the information on this form, provide a picture and pick a background, and the Israel Ministry of Tourism will mail you three copies of your postcard.
Israel is a popular destination during the holiday season as travellers discover the Middle Eastern country’s iconic religious and holy sites, such as the Church of Holy Sepulcher, the Via Dolorosa, the Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock and many more.
Israel Tourism’s postcard initiative includes a variety of backdrops, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea and Nazareth.
“Because of Israel’s abundance of religious and historical sites, the holiday season is so important to travellers around the world,” Gal Hana, Israel Ministry of Tourism Consul Director for Canada, told PAX. "We wanted to create a way that people can have a little Israel cheer while they are still unable to travel to the country."
“With this activation, those who submit will receive something tangible from Israel that they can hold on to and to keep their wanderlust alive for when we can travel again.”
Inspiring future travel
The campaign is a great way for travel agents to stay engaged with clients during the pandemic and inspire future travel, added Hana.
“The travel agents we work with have been telling us that the interest in going back to Israel has been strong throughout the pandemic. Unfortunately, the country (like many countries around the world) is still closed to visitors so their clients can’t yet travel there,” said Hana.
“This activation offers a fun opportunity for clients to get a nice memento from a country they hold dear during the holiday season, and to get them excited for what’s to come when travel resumes.”
