Tourism Ireland is welcoming the announcement by the Irish Government that mixed vaccines are now accepted as full vaccination.

Passengers are considered fully vaccinated if they have been vaccinated with any combination of a vaccine approved for use in Ireland, as defined in the national regulations published 9 November 2021.

For example, if your first dose was Astra-Zeneca, and your second dose was Pfizer, you are fully vaccinated 7 days after the Pfizer dose. This includes vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency and some from the WHO Emergency Use Listing, see list below.

  • Spikevax (previously Moderna) plus 14 days
  • Vaxzevria (previously AstraZeneca)/Covishield plus 15 days
  • Comirnaty plus 7 days
  • Janssen plus 14 days
  • (Vero Cell) Inactivated/CoronaVac plus 14 days
  • Inactivated COVID-19 (VERO CELL)/SinoPharm / BIBP plus 14 days

Please note you are not considered fully vaccinated until the below period has passed based on your second vaccine:

  • 15 days after the second AstraZeneca dose or second Covishield dose
  • 7 days after the second Pfizer-BioNtech dose
  • 14 days after the second Moderna dose
  • 14 days after the single Janssen dose
  • 14 days after the second Sinopharm dose (also called Vero Cell Inactivated)

Meanwhile, Tourism Ireland has launched new initiatives to help kickstart tourism, including the new "Green Button" campaign, which invites travellers to press the ‘Green Button’ and drive bookings for short breaks and holidays in the coming months.

This multimedia promo delivers a very clear ‘book now’ message to a "culturally curious audience" while aiming to drive up visitor numbers.

An industry tool kit full of logos, images, videos and fun social media content has been released to explain what pressing the Green Button means and how travel advisors can incorporate Ireland into their marketing. Click here for more details!
