FITCuba, Cuba’s annual international tourism fair, has been postponed, joining dozens of other travel events that have also had to cancel due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
Nicola Blazier of Jesson + Company Communications, which represents Cuba tourism in Canada, confirmed the news in an email on Friday morning (March 20th).
What is considered to be the most relevant tourism event in the Cuban tourism industry, the event was originally planned from May 4th to 9th in Varadero.
The measure is in direct response to the international spread of COVID-19, organizers say, and a new date will be announced as soon as possible.
