Contiki announces new agent FAMs & Tiki chatbot

Contiki will be hosting four open age trade FAM trips for agents this year, showcasing the breadth of its global offering.

The first FAM will kick-start in Peru in May (May 12-May 18th, 2018), with its ‘Germany Slovenia & Croatia Sailing’ trip taking place simultaneously (May 13-19th, 2018); these are followed by a Thailand FAM in September (September 23-29th, 2018) and ending 2018 with the annual Christmas Market & Ski FAM in Germany and Austria in December (December 8-14th, 2018).

Each FAM trip has been designed exclusively for agents, with the focus of showcasing as many Contiki experiences as possible. Agents who attend the ‘Germany Slovenia & Croatia Sailing’ trip will be the first to experience sailing along the pristine Dalmatian coastline on a Contiki exclusive boat – which has never been offered on an agent FAM in the past. In Thailand, agents will experience one of Contiki’s best-selling trips and heavily requested by agents. In addition, agents will also be among the first to visit the newly refurbished Gasthof in Austria – which underwent a massive re-design to better serve clients.

To be eligible for Contiki FAM’s, agents must have completed the mandatory Contiki U E-learning training courses. To apply, agents will be required to tell Contiki in 100 words or more, how they plan to increase their Contiki sales after completing their chosen FAM, and send their applications to sales@contiki.ca no later than March 16, 2018 for the two trips departing in May; by June 30th, 2018 for Thailand; and Oct. 1, 2018 for the Christmas Market FAM. Interested agents of all ages and regions are encouraged to apply today as space is limited.

In addition, Contiki has also launched Tiki, the tour operator’s new chatbot designed to help agents and their clients navigate the brand’s eight travel styles.

Tiki guides users through a set of questions about their personality, travel preferences and tastes, through a mix of pop-culture references and internet memes. Once Tiki has identified the users’ travel style, it suggests a number of Contiki trips within that style that would suit them best.

Contiki launched their ‘travel styles’ in 2014, which was aimed to provide more tailored travel experiences suited to the diverse and fragmented millennial audience. To celebrate both the diversity of its offering and individuality of its travellers, Contiki is also launching its newest Travel Styles campaign along with Tiki. Now until Feb. 21, 2018, clients can save up to $908 or 10 per cent off Summer Europe 2018 adventures across all eight travel styles, including its newly released Independent Insider trips.
