A woman was arrested Sunday morning at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, after she scaled a barbed-wire fence and ran onto the tarmac to stop a plane.
The Canadian Press reported that around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 10, the 37-year-old woman climbed the three-metre fence to stop a plane which she believed her partner had boarded. The RCMP later determined that her partner was not on any plane.
The report states that the woman was on the tarmac for a few minutes, causing air traffic controllers to re-route a small plane taxiing on the runway, before she was stopped by an HIA employee prior to police arriving.
No charges are expected to be laid against the woman.
