After eight months of big wins for travel agents across Canada, TravelBrands has named the grand prize winner of 1 million Loyalty Rewards Points in the company’s 2017 contest.
Cindy Li of One’s Travel in Markham, Ontario was the winning travel agent in the contest, which began last May and coincided with the launch of TravelBrands’ Access booking portal for agents. The contest saw thousands of travel agents across Canada eligible to win monthly prizes of 100,000 Loyalty Rewards Points, by booking their clients’ vacations, flights, cruises and more through the new Access portal.
“It was amazing when they came in with the balloons the first time – I was so shocked I nearly fainted and didn’t know what to say!” Li told PAX. “I’m so proud to be a travel agent because I’m helping my clients. I’ve been in the industry for four and a half years and I find that everything I do contributes to everyone’s vacation. I’m very into customer retention and loyalty, so if I can build that it means more business, especially with TravelBrands and all the great teamwork.”
Li, who has worked at One’s Travel since beginning her travel career, told PAX that the agency specializes in cruise vacations, which she books through TravelBrands’ Encore Cruises. She added that she plans to use her Loyalty Rewards Points for an Encore cruise booking of her own.
TravelBrands CEO Frank DeMarinis told PAX that since launching in May, Access has been very well-received by the travel agent community in Canada, providing a single source for all of the company’s products.
“The agents love it,” DeMarinis told PAX. “It’s the go-to platform for agents to work smarter, not harder and it provides the entire breadth of product that we offer. We developed Access for all agents as a user-friendly portal to shop across all of our products from dynamic packaging, flights, hotels and car rentals, where they can purchase all of their clients’ needs.”
