"Please try to stay positive during these difficult times," says Dave Wright, director of sales for Ontario and Atlantic Canada at Sunwing Vacations. "We will get through this."
Wright's words come as Canada's travel industry rallies in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and it's devastating impact on business.
In a new video released exclusively to PAX, Wright highlights some of the steps Sunwing has taken in recent weeks to help its customers, notably it's repatriation efforts in bringing more than 60,000 Canadians home, including more than 3,300 non-Sunwing customers.
"It was the right thing to do and we were certainly glad we were able to do it," Wright says in the video.
Sunwing has temporarily suspended its flights up to and including April 30th, 2020, Wright says, and clients scheduled during that time period will receive a future travel credit in the amount of the their original package that is valid for 24 months.
Hear all about this, and more, in Wright's video below.
PAX will be releasing video messages from some of Canada's major industry players all month as part of its Travel Trade Professionals Club, an initiative designed to keep the industry connected with one another during the COVID-19 pandemic.
