Michael Curmi, director of agency sales and distribution at Porter Airlines, is expressing his support for travel agents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We will get through this, the only way we know how: together with everyone’s support," Curmi says in a new video released to PAX.
Porter temporarily suspended all flights last month and, as of now, plans to resume service on June 1st.
"Porter made that very difficult decision with our employees', customers' and community’s health and safety in mind," Curmi says in the video, speaking on the suspension.
Curmi points out that Porter Airlines owns 26 of the 29 aircraft in its fleet. Therefore: "We are well positioned to come out of this and restart the airline in the very near future," he says.
He urges travel advisors to note Porter's flexible rebooking policy - if they haven't done so already - which can be found in the travel agent portal on flyporter.com.
PAX will be publishing videos from the travel industry all month as part of its Travel Trade Professionals Club, a campaign dedicated to keeping the industry connected during the COVID-19 pandemic.
