Pax Global Media is extending its sincere condolences to the Baxter Media team and Baxter family following the recent passing of Editor-In-Chief and company Co-Founder Edith Baxter.
Edith passed peacefully at her home in Toronto, surrounded by her family on Tues., Nov. 3, 2020, according to a statement issued by the Baxter team on Wednesday (Nov. 4).
A travel industry pioneer and business leader for more than 50 years, Edith helmed the editorial operations of Baxter Media, while her husband, W.H. Baxter, oversaw the company’s business-side activities, the statement reads.
She was known as “Mrs. B” by many in the industry (while her husband was better known as “Mr. B”), the team said.
The Pax Global Media team has fond memories of Edith and will remember her as an iconic competitor who brought innovation, creativity and energy to everything she did.
In a statement issued to PAX, Wendy McClung, executive vice-president of Baxter Media, said that her mother’s mantra was to “work hard, fight for your beliefs and be respectful of everyone regardless of who they are.”
“Her passing is a loss to the entire travel industry,” said McClung. “She was not just my mother, but the matriarch of a much bigger family. She is sorely missed by many.”
