Company: Savour The World Travel (TTAND)

Where do you live? Ottawa

How long have you been a travel agent? 4.5 years

What is your specialty?

I'm also a sommelier, so I gravitate towards river cruises and custom itineraries where I can blend food, wine and culture.

What do you love most about being a travel agent?

Connecting with people and inspiring them to grow in the ways they travel and experience the world.

What's one travel trend you've noticed as of late?

I'm getting a lot more requests for solo travellers, especially women, looking to connect with other travellers and explore. It is an absolute privilege to work with these ladies and make their dreams come true.

Of all the bookings you’ve made, which itinerary and/or travel package are you most proud of?

I recently sent a new retiree with no travel experience on an Azamara Greece itinerary. The lady worked fifty years at the same place, and never took time for herself to travel. I knew she would love it, but she was nervous having never travelled before and being single. She came home having had the time of her life, meeting tons of new people and ready to go on her next adventure to Iceland in 2020. That was such a thrill, to open someone's eyes to the possibilities.

What's your number one piece of advice to other travel agents?

Don't underestimate yourself or your value. You aren't just selling a product, you're selling an experience, an investment of someone's valuable leisure time. You are the product! Take the time to really connect with your clients and you can't fail.
