How long have you been a travel agent? Eight years

What is your specialty? 

While it may go against the recommendation to be focused and have one or two specialties, my business model is different. I like to say I sell what I know. I have travelled to Europe several times, been to dozens of AIs, cruised on a few different lines, enjoyed Disney World, taken rail vacations, lived in Afghanistan and Dubai, and toured China.

My own travel experiences put me in a somewhat unique position where I feel I can advise my travellers on so many opportunities by sharing my own stories and encouraging them to explore the same way I have.

What do you love most about being a travel agent? 

Having happy customers!

What's one travel trend you've noticed as of late?  

More people recognize the value and necessity of purchasing travel insurance.

Of all the bookings you’ve made, which itinerary and/or travel package are you most proud of? 

An F.I.T. to Greece - my traveller spent three weeks there, travelling to many islands and towns, some off the beaten path, as he wanted to connect with his own Greek roots plus attend a family wedding.

He travelled by train, plane, bus and car and sent me pictures every time he reached a new destination. He had such a great experience he did the same thing the next year, but going to completely new places in Greece. It may well become an annual trek for him!

What's your number one piece of advice to other travel agents?  

Learn how to research and gather as many resources as you can find.
