Heidi Schnitker joins Trevello as professional development manager for Ontario

A familiar face in Canada’s travel industry has joined the team at Trevello.

Heidi Schnitker, previously of TTC Tour Brands, is now a professional development manager in Ontario for the host agency formally known as Travel Professionals International (TPI).

In a statement to PAX, Schnitker said her primary role at Trevello will be to help support advisors as they continue to grow their business. 

“It’s a role that I’m very excited about as I will work with each advisor to assist them in developing their strategy as they recover from the last two years,” Schnitker said. “Additionally, I will be working closely with our new advisors who have joined the network to assist them as they set out to build a thriving travel business.”

In her new role, “no two days are alike, and that excites me,” she said.

“I will be doing everything from business and action planning, financial and product review to identifying growth areas, group training sessions, marketing idea generation, and continually working on the needs assessment matrix to ensure we’re delivering the best support and service to our valued advisors.”

Schnitker was previously a business development manager for Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold from November 2018 for half of Ontario.

During the last five months of that role, she transitioned to looking after the whole of Ontario for an additional four brands (Trafalgar, Costsaver, Contiki and Brendan Vacations).

Gedeon noted the challenges of being an IC. “You’re often working on your own to build your business,” she said.

At Trevello, it is “very assuring” that advisors have an inside sales team to assist, but also a regional manager whose primary role is to help businesses thrive, she explained.

“Having managers in each region across the country has always been essential to our ongoing strategy to support our advisors,” Gedeon said. “Our professional development managers are instrumental in ensuring that we have a continuous loop of feedback from the advisors to the head office team.”

“With Heidi’s background as a previous travel advisor, BDM, and her entrepreneurial spirit, we know she’ll be a great support and resource for our advisors and an asset to Trevello.”
