Christian Roussin departs Playa Hotels & Resorts

"It is with a lot of emotions that I announce my departure from Playa Hotels and Resorts for a new adventure that awaits me,” announced Christian Roussin on Facebook on Friday (Dec. 2).

Roussin was a business development manager in Quebec and Atlantic Canada at Playa for four years. Before that, he was director of business development for WestJet in Quebec.

Mr. Roussin's post gave no additional details as to what the nature of his new adventure will be. It does not specify whether it involves the travel, tourism or hotel industry.

Four wonderful years

Mr. Roussin nevertheless noted that his experience at Playa Resorts was a positive one.

“I feel privileged to have shared these four wonderful years with Rose, Amanda, Freddie, Jennifer, the USA team and especially with all of you, travel advisors! A BIG THANK YOU for your confidence in me and Playa and especially for giving me the exceptional opportunity to introduce you to Playa’s "Service from the Heart,” he wrote.

A successor will be appointed shortly

Roussin also assured travel advisors that they will remain in good hands, despite his departure.

“Rest assured that my colleagues Amanda and Freddie are always on hand to provide excellent support. And I am happy to confirm that a representative will be on duty shortly to cover the territory of Quebec, Ottawa and Atlantic Canada.

"Thank you and I sincerely hope to have the chance to meet you again,” concluded Roussin.

Roussin's announcement has already prompted dozens of comments from professionals wishing him good luck in his new endeavours.
