Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Playa Hotels & Resorts, together, are packing a powerful punch in the hospitality world with the launch of their new all-inclusive resort brand, Wyndham Alltra.

The first two resorts to debut under the Wyndham Alltra brand are Playa’s 458-room Wyndham Alltra Cancun, located in the city’s Hotel zone, and the 287-room Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen, which is situated steps away from the beach town’s bars, restaurants and high-end shops on famous Fifth Avenue.

PAX is currently on location in Cancun, Mexico, getting an on-the-ground look at the newly-renovated, all-inclusive, family-friendly Cancun property, which is marking its official grand opening on Tuesday (April 26) with a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration.

With more than 10 restaurants, bars, and lounges, multiple pools, included activities, from yoga classes to tequila tastings, a pirate-themed splash park for kids, and a mini-golf course, the beachfront resort is touted as the “perfect escape for families, couples, and group gatherings.”

Wyndham and Playa executives will be attending the opening party on Tuesday to discuss their strategic partnership, which was first announced in October 2021.

Wyndham’s alliance with Playa is expected to leverage the company’s ability to drive sales, marketing and distribution, midscale and upscale segments via its 89 million enrolled Wyndham Rewards Members and Everyday Travellers, combined with Playa’s ability to provide best-in-class experiences and great value to guests.

The name “Alltra” is born from the promise of “All-Inclusive Travel for All,” according to an October 2021 press release.

The name marks Wyndham’s 22nd brand and its first dedicated entirely to the fast-growing, all-inclusive segment.

The two resorts will also be the first of many properties to be built under the Wyndham-Playa partnership, catering to the upper-midscale, all-inclusive resort market in the Caribbean and Mexico.
