The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has re-launched TICO Talk, its quarterly newsletter for Ontario’s travel industry, as an online magazine.
To celebrate the publication’s 20th anniversary, TICO Talk has been revamped into a new, highly-visual format, which is just as easy to read on your phone or tablet as it is on your desktop computer.
What is TICO Talk?
Since it first launched in 1999, TICO Talk has been an integral way for Ontario’s travel agencies and wholesalers to learn about important consumer protection news, regulatory updates and to stay up-to-date on compliance matters.
“TICO is continuing to enhance its value for Ontario’s travel sector, so it only made sense for us to look at our communications as well,” said Richard Smart, TICO’s president and CEO. “TICO Talk is a key way that we share regulatory news and other updates affecting Ontario’s travel agencies and wholesalers and we hope that this new digital format will allow us to reach even more members of the industry than before in a cost-effective way.”
This edition of TICO Talk provides updates about:
- The ongoing collaboration between TICO and the government on proposed regulatory updates
- TICO’s renewed emphasis on registrant engagement
- How TICO’s consumer awareness campaign encourages Ontarians to book with a registered travel agency or website
- A compliance quiz to sharpen your knowledge around disclosure and invoicing
