TICO reduces exam rewrite wait times, assists with recruitment

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) is reducing the required rewrite wait times for its travel counsellor and supervisor/manager exams.

"As the travel industry continues to rebound, this change is aimed at facilitating the pace at which new travel professionals can enter the industry," TICO said in a press release on Feb. 1. 

New exam rewrite wait times (if first exam attempt is unsuccessful):

• First exam rewrite – 24-hour waiting period after receiving results.
• Second exam rewrite – 5-day waiting period after receiving results.
• Third and any subsequent exam rewrites – 30-day waiting period for each attempt after receiving results.

 Previous exam rewrite wait times (if first exam attempt is unsuccessful):

• First exam rewrite – 14-day waiting period after receiving results.
• Second and any subsequent exam rewrites – 30-day waiting period for each attempt after receiving results.

Individuals receive their results in two, three days after completing their exam, following a verification and overall compliance review of the exam process.
