Transat Distribution Canada (TDC) has made key appointments to its agent@home program.

In an update shared on Monday (Oct. 17), Karine Gagnon, general manager of TDC, announced the appointment of two members to the team.

Carol Thorne, a 30-year veteran of TDC, is now the regional manager for the Ontario, Western and Maritime regions and Caroline Legendre, who recently joined TDC, takes on the role of regional manager for Quebec.

“As regional managers, their role is to support the agent@home travel professionals in their respective region, to answer their questions, provide training, direct them to the right resources within the team. In the ever-changing world of travel, this supporting role for travel professionals is truly valuable,” Gagnon said.

Chantal Lalonde, who was “instrumental” in the creation and development of TDC's agent@home program, has also been promoted to business development manager for Quebec, Gagnon said.

Lalonde will be working alongside Katrina Rourke, TDC’s business development manager for Ontario, Western Canada and Atlantic.

"One of the strengths of the TDC network is the support it provides to its network, which takes many forms, including generous commissions that are among the highest in the industry, one of the most comprehensive online professional training programs industry, TDC Campus, which is offered free of charge, and much more,” Gagnon said.

“At TDC, support comes first and foremost from a dedicated, full-time team of experienced senior managers and operational support.”

Strength at TDC

Beyond the pride of seeing the team grow, Gagnon emphasized the space this business segment occupies in the network’s overall offering.

“Our strength at TDC is that we can offer travel professionals all types of models, whether they wish to be full-time employees, franchise owners or independent contractors, and all this within a Canadian owned and fully bilingual organization,” Gagnon said.

“This puts us in a strong position by allowing all travel professionals in our network to evolve according to their needs and to market conditions, while still enjoying the benefits of being part of the leading network in Canada.”

“In the end, all members profit from the learnings and programs developed in anyone of our business sectors.”
