The Westin Bayshore in Vancouver has been awarded a wildlife-friendly habitat certification by the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF).
The CWF’s Backyard Habitat Certification Program recognizes the concerted efforts the hotel takes to meet the habitat needs of wildlife.
The hotel is a waterfront property located on Coal Harbour amid the natural beauty of Stanley Park. It was recognized after meeting specific criteria set out by CWF. It’s actions have helped local and migratory wildlife, including species at risk in the area.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by the Canadian Wildlife Federation as a wildlife-friendly habitat,” Marion Harper Treskin, general manager of The Westin Bayshore, stated in a release.
“Our landscaping has been created with wildlife in mind to provide beauty and tranquility for the hotel grounds. The gardens allow our guests to see natural local vegetation on the property, which adds to the overall experience of visiting Vancouver.”
