Dear travel agents: stay positive, don’t give up. You're not alone.

That is the underlying message of a new video released by Canada’s four business development managers for AMResorts.

Many in Canada’s travel agent community are grappling with the economic losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, from lost commissions due to cancelled bookings to working around the clock to reschedule travel for little (if any) compensation.

During this difficult time, BDMs Orelbys Vigoa (Quebec and Eastern Canada), Brian Joseph (Toronto, GTA and Eastern Ontario), Scott Reid (Southwestern/Northwestern Ontario, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) and Carlo Trinidad (Western Canada) want agents to know that they have their backs, and to not lose faith, despite what hurdles may lay ahead.

“The travel industry is a caring family,” the four said in a joint statement issued to PAX. “In good times and bad we stand together, and this video is a perfect example of that. We want the agents to know that the AMResorts BDMs see their sacrifice, will always stand by them and support them. We value their partnership now more than ever.”

The video shows each of the four gentlemen extending their sympathies to travel advisors, all the while offering encouragement and support.

“Let’s keep the dream alive,” says Joseph in the video. “Don’t focus on what is being lost. Focus now on what you can do to prepare for when those phones start ringing again and when those customers are prepared to travel again.”

He adds: “This will be over and we will be here to support you."
