Tourico Holidays has reported a 45 per cent year-over-year increase in hotel room nights in Latin America, with a 207 per cent growth in bookings from Canada alone.
According to Tourico, the significant growth in Latin American hotel room nights can be attributed to the increased demand from major source markets throughout the world. Canada and the U.S. increased hotel bookings to the region by 207 per cent and 47 per cent respectively in 2016, while Asian bookings grew by 220 per cent – with China’s bookings increasing by over 400 per cent. Europe, as a whole, also drastically increased its demand for Latin America, increasing bookings by 37 per cent overall. Australia increased bookings by 141 per cent.
The wholesale travel brokerage company is also reporting a 70 per cent year-over-year revenue increase generated from the Latin American market in 2016, as inbound bookings surge.
Tourico Holidays currently has over 6,000 hotel partners in Latin America – including Hyatt, Starwood, Wyndham, Marriot, Hard Rock, Posadas, Barcelo, Sunset and other major suppliers.
