St. Somewhere, Margaritaville’s debut boutique hotel brand, is celebrating its one-year anniversary on Holbox Island with property updates and new programming.
Home to famous bioluminescent waters, uncrowded beaches, fishing villages, and one of the largest ecological reserves around, Holbox – an unspoiled island just north of the Yucatán Peninsula – is one of Mexico’s best kept secrets.
And Margaritaville’s 39-suite property, which is managed by Karisma Hotels & Resorts, is expanding its transportation options, making it easier for guests to get there.
Direct hotel transport
Margaritaville St. Somewhere is enabling increased access by building a new dock with direct ferry transport.
Currently, the adventure to Holbox Island includes vehicle transfer from Cancun airport to the town of Chiquila, where guests access the resort via ferry and golf cart transport.
Soon, guests will be able to slip into a Margaritaville state of mind as they arrive in Chiquila, knowing they are only one step away from their destination.
The dock is under construction and is expected to be completed by April 2023.
Helipad service is also underway and will be available to guests before the end of the year.
New programming
There’s also new programming and seasonal offerings that celebrate Holbox’s unique culture and cuisine.
Guests and locals can look forward to seasonal Lunar and Bioluminescent Bay parties as well as weekly DJ-led pool parties with new food and beverage options including, floating ceviche and taco bars, beachfront bbq, Mexican spirit experiences, and more.
All-inclusive food & beverage
Margaritaville St. Somewhere is an EP-plan hotel. However, guests may also opt into a new all-inclusive package that offers a range of choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as an unlimited selection of wines, beers, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages.
There’s a rotating selection of menu offerings, from fresh fish ceviche, lobster pizza (an island favourite), brisket tacos, grilled octopus, and locally-sourced ice cream.

"In celebration of our one-year anniversary, we are thrilled to introduce these new programming options and property updates to Margaritaville St. Somewhere," said Daniel Lozano, vice-president of operations at Karisma Hotels & Resorts.
"These new elevated offerings will enhance cultural experiences and programming at the resort, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the best the island offers for a true in-destination experience."
Guests are invited to revel in 3,000 feet of untouched shoreline, cozy up to a bar or open-air restaurant, or dive into the destination with seasonal excursion options, including deep-sea fishing, bird-watching trips, whale-shark swimming, kayaking through mangroves, and more.
