Sandals Resorts has confirmed that it will begin welcoming guests back to its properties as early as next month.
On May 5th, the company announced its intent to implement a brand new set of health and sanitation measures across its 15 Caribbean resorts.
Sandals Platinum Protocols of Cleanliness builds on its existing industry-leading practices to guarantee cleanliness standards and heightened health and safety measures that address changing consumer expectations amidst COVID-19. The new protocols include the integration of advanced hygiene practices across eighteen key touch points – starting from the moment guests arrive at airport lounges through the entirety of the resort experience.
As a result of undertaking strict sanitary measures, Sandals is confident that its guests will return worry-free, and can enjoy the properties starting the first week of June.
"We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it relates to being able to reopen our resorts and welcome guests. We are pleased to announce that all of our resorts (with the exceptions of our Bahamas resorts) are scheduled to reopen on June 4th, 2020," Tracy McCann, spokesperson for Sandals told PAX.
This includes Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Turks & Caicos. All of Sandals' Bahamas locations have a scheduled opening date of July 1st, 2020.
"There have been several ongoing travel restrictions, airport closures, and increased government protocols, which have caused border closure extensions," McCann added. "These dates are, therefore, subject to change, as they are dependent on those factors. We will be sure to keep you updated on any changes as they become available."
