The Rosalie Bay Eco Hotel has re-opened, and will welcome guests in February 2020.
Located on the southeastern side of Dominica, Rosalie Bay closed after suffering a direct hit from Category 5 Hurricane Maria in September 2017. While the resort was damaged, the staff endured personal devastation as well. The resort’s leadership dedicated itself to helping those in need including bringing in professional crisis responders from off island who provided long-term aid.
The resort has been able to focus on rebuilding itself under new management.
It is now known as Rosalie Bay Eco-Resort. Once again, guests will be able to enjoy a locally owned and operated resort for authentic Nature Island hospitality. Even the beloved sea turtles, including giant 1,000 pound-Leatherbacks, are once again nesting, and hatchlings are taking their first steps on Rosalie’s black sand beach to begin life at sea.
The grounds and facilities are teeming with on-island and Caribbean craftsmen. The renovation of the reception center, restaurant, spa, fitness center, onyx-lined pool, special events center and all 28 spacious rooms and suites is nearing completion. Next up, refurbishment with locally carved furniture, hand-stitched soft goods and Creole artwork.
