There were no reported injuries after a fire broke out in a Mexican resort, which is popular among Canadians, on Friday night.
The area of the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum in Mexico’s Mayan Riviera was evacuated on Friday night, according to Global News, with normal operations resuming on Saturday morning. Officials from the resort issued a press release stating that ‘the situation was kept under control at all times,’ and added that the fire occurred as a ‘result of an unfortunate short-circuit.’
The resort, which has 960 rooms, is located about 100 kilometres south of Cancun.
