Grand Velas Resorts and Velas Vallarta have just announced that they are now members of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

The distinction places Velas among just eight Preferred Legend Properties in Mexico, in the following categories:

• Grand Velas Riviera Maya: first luxury all-inclusive resort in Playa del Carmen
• Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit: the only luxury all-inclusive resort in Riviera Nayarit
• Grand Velas Los Cabos: first luxury all-inclusive resort in Los Cabos
