Club Med simplifies travel credits, unveils additional incentives

Club Med simplifies travel credits, unveils additional incentives

Club Med has just changed its policy regarding future travel credits for customers who had to cancel their vacation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A welcome measure… and retroactive

From now on, customers will hold a unique future travel credit, the total amount of which will be equal to the initially paid value of the package (including the land and air portion).

This harmonization, which will be retroactive to credits already issued, is intended to guarantee customers greater flexibility in using their credit by offering them an additional facility to book to any destination, regardless of the Canadian airline initially booked.

In addition, if the value of the new booking is lower than the amount of the travel credit applied, the client may receive a new credit corresponding to the residual value, applicable for a future Club Med package.

For more details and to support its partners in this travel credit topic, the Club Med team will organize a dedicated webinar on June 9th.

Best Price Guarantee

Also, in order to guarantee travellers total flexibility and peace of mind, Club Med customers will now be able to benefit from the Best Price Guarantee. In the future, for land portion only, if a lower price is offered for the same travel dates after booking, it will be possible to receive a future travel credit equal to the difference.

Free cancellation up to 15 days before departure

Additionally, new bookings for stays up to December 18, 2020, will be eligible to an adjusted Cancellation Policy allowing free cancellation up to 15 days before departure.

Two new incentives for pros

Club Med also announces new measures to support travel professionals

Recognizing the additional work involved in booking travel credits, but also in order to reward  additional efforts in this particular context to ensure new reservations, two incentives are put in place. They are valid for both individual and group trips.

  • An additional commission of 2 per cent, on top of the current rate and applicable conditions, will be offered on the amount of travel credit for all bookings using future travel credit for departures up to March 31, 2021
  • In addition, Club Med will offer a $50 gift card for individual reservations and $300 for groups of 20 or more people, for all new reservations or reservations using travel credit made before August 31, 2020, for stays travelled in 2020*.

Reopening of Villages in North America

At the same time, Club Med is continuing its reopening plans for its North American Villages.

After the announcement of the reopening of its Floridian Village in Sandpiper Bay scheduled for June 12, Club Med therefore announces the reopening of Club Med Cancun Yucatan in Mexico (which will reopen on July 1) and Club Med Turkoise (in the islands Turks & Caicos, host of new customers from 1 st August).

The recently unveiled Safe Health measures will be implemented to provide customers with a peaceful and secure vacation at Club Med this summer.

As for Cancún Yúcatan, Club Med points out that flight packages included from $ 1,599 per adult are available for departures until January 9, 2021. As for Turkoise, the newly renovated village is offered from from $ 1699, per adult flight-inclusive package for departures until January 9, 2021.
