Club Med shows off new photos of Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda

Today, Club Med unveiled the very first look at Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda, the company’s first Exclusive Collection resort in the Americas, nestled in an untouched region of the Dominican Republic. The first look reveals new renderings of the resort and details about its environmental positioning and four boutique villages.

The company first announced this project in May 2018, when it held a celebratory event on the future site of the resort to lay the first hallmark icon: the first cabana daybed.

Part of the Exclusive Collection

During the event, Club Med shared it will be the first hospitality brand in the world to open a resort in the pristine, lush region of Michès, approximately an hour and a half north of the now famous vacation hotspot Punta Cana.

At 93 acres, Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda is Club Med's biggest project of its type in the Caribbean in the past 40 years. The resort will be part of Club Med’s Exclusive Collection, a dedicated category of the most premium resorts designed for travellers seeking the finer elements of the all-inclusive resort brand. The resort will be the first full Exclusive Collection resort in the Americas, and will act as the new flagship of the dedicated line in the region.

Exclusive Collection resorts are characterized by their premium accommodations, exceptional hospitality and personalized services, exclusively beautiful locations around the world, refined dining concepts and lounges, transformational experiences, and unique architecture and design elements. 

“For almost 10 years, our team searched to find the perfect new land in the Caribbean to introduce to our guests,” expressed Xavier Mufraggi, CEO of Club Med, North America and the Caribbean. ”Miches was a natural fit - we found many locals, and even our own employees in Punta Cana, would spend their free days visiting this unspoiled location. We decided to explore this area for ourselves to see what made it so special. Little did we know how remarkable it would be: from its unparalleled beaches and breathtaking sights of whales swimming off the coast of Samaná Bay to the famous peak and swing of Montaña Redonda and the cascading waters of El Limón - Miches had it all. Now, we are thrilled to bring Miches to the forefront when we open Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda in December 2019, the very first Exclusive Collection resort in the Americas.”

One resort, four boutique villages

Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda will introduce a new concept to the brand’s Exclusive Collection. In order to create a more personalized, customizable and intimate experience catered to each guest, the resort will feature four boutique villages. Each village will present its own unique environment, activities and accommodations. 

The villages include Archipelago, Caribbean Paradise, Emerald Jungle and Explorer Cove.
