Following the maiden voyage of Disney Wish earlier this year, Disney Cruise Line has announced the name of its sixth ship: Disney Treasure.

The ship, revealed at the D23 Expo on Sunday (Sept. 11), will set sail in 2024 and will be constructed around the theme of adventure.

Similar to Disney Wish, the three-deck atrium will once again be called the Grand Hall, and it will be inspired by a gold and dark blue gilded palace, drawing inspiration from Asia and Africa, with nods to the fantasy land of Agrabah, the central location and Arabian desert kingdom from Disney’s 1992 film Aladdin.

It will feature a statue of Jasmine and Aladdin riding on a magic carpet.

(The “D” stands for Disney and the “23” is for 1923, which is the year Walt Disney founded the company).

Josh D’Amaro, head of Disney’s parks, experiences and product division, told event attendees that “Disney Wonder” will now travel to Australia and New Zealand starting Oct. 2023.

The company is also opening a new island vacation destination in the Bahamas called Lighthouse Point.

D’Amaro noted 90 per cent of the power used at this location will be generated by solar power.
