Princess Cruises cancels more sailings
Pax Global Media

Princess Cruises has cancelled sailings to Mexico, the California coast, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean.

The itineraries, cancelled due to international travel restrictions, are as follows:

  • the Ruby Princess cruises on the California coast and Mexico until August 21, 2021;
  • Caribbean Princess cruises in the Caribbean until August 21, 2021
  • all that remains of the 2021 Mediterranean season of the Enchanted Princess .

Princess emphasizes that it is continuing to work with government and port authorities to finalize its plans to return to cruising.

“We continue to have constructive discussions with the CDC , but many questions remain unanswered. We are working diligently to resume shipping in the United States and meet CDC guidelines," said Jan Swartz, President of Princess Cruises.

Alaska cruises maintained

Princess is also maintaining its cruises in Alaska, in the hope that its discussions with various representatives of the American and Canadian governments (in an attempt to save part of the 2021 Alaska cruise season) bear fruit.

“We know that our guests are just as eager as we are to get back to sailing, and we appreciate their patience as we get closer to the cruise resumption,” said Swartz.

Passengers affected by cancellations

Passengers affected by cancellations will be offered the option to book a cruise equivalent to the 2021 fare later in the year or in 2022.

They will be able to take advantage of a refundable Future Cruise Credit (FCC) equivalent to 100% of the cruise fare paid plus a non-refundable bonus corresponding to 10% of the cruise fare paid. FCCs can be used on all cruises booked before December 31, 2022 and scheduled to depart before that date.

If desired, affected passengers will also be able to obtain a full refund of the original form of payment. To do this, they must complete the required online form before June 15, 2021.

Princess says it will protect travel agents' commissions on bookings that have been paid in full - "in recognition of the vital role they play in the business and success of the cruise line."
