Virtuoso concluded its 35th annual Virtuoso Travel Week by honouring individuals and entities that have gone above and beyond in the travel industry over the past year.

Taking place Aug. 12-18, this year’s Virtuoso Travel Week offered virtual and in-person experiences held in Las Vegas at Bellagio Resort and Casino, ARIA Resort and Casino and Vdara Hotel and Spa.

The gala, which took place Aug. 17 at Bellagio, shined a spotlight on the network’s most esteemed travel agencies, advisors and preferred partners.

Virtuoso’s professional travel advisors from 54 countries served as Best of the Best award voters.

Editors of Virutoso, The Magazine, the network’s multi-award-winning flagship publication, narrowed the field of nominees before the advisors cast the final vote.

Winners will be showcased in the magazine’s November/December issue, reaching 200,000 households.

The category’s winners include Italy’s San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel, for best hotel; Turkey’s The Peninsula Istanbul, for best new or reimagined hotel; and Greece’s Markos Chaidemenos, Canaves Oia, Luxury Resorts, for hotelier of the year.

In the Virtuoso Selected category, winners included Chicago’s Q Cruise + Travel, for most engaged global agency; Tourism Australia, for luminary; Christy Menzies, Menzies Luxe Retreats, an independent affiliate of Brownell Travel in Darien, Connecticut, for rising star; and Jaime Leon and Laura Asilis, Travelwise, Dominican Republic, for the Ruby of Siam award.
