The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) has released new details about some of the speakers and professional development topics for its in-person travel industry summits happening in September.

Keynote speaker Bruce Poon Tip, founder of G Adventures and global leader in social entrepreneurship, immersive travel, innovation and executive producer of the 2022 documentary film The Last Tourist, will explore travel as a force of change.

Passionate about the power of travel to change the world for the better, Bruce will examine important issues facing travel and tourism and empower the audience to appeal to a new kind of traveller and be inspired to sell new niches to existing clients looking to travel better.

He will appear at the Toronto summit on Sept. 14.

Rebuilding the Canadian Travel Industry – Together!

Join the discussion on how we build back better the Canadian travel industry.

Leaders from some of Canada’s best-known travel companies will discuss the challenges and potential solutions facing travel agents and tour operators, and how we can work together to build a stronger and more successful travel industry.

Bring your questions and ideas for an interactive audience discussion.

This segment will be featured at the Toronto, as well as the Vancouver (Richmond) summit on Sept. 20 and Montreal (Laval) event on Sept. 28.

Louise Gardiner, CTM, ACTA board treasurer and VP of The Agency Solution by The Travel Agent Next Door will lead a panel of professional travel agents to explore how they survived the pandemic, revamped their business and are now thriving.

Travel agent colleagues from across Canada share how they survived the worst of the pandemic and revamped their business to thrive in our new normal.

This will take place at the Toronto and Vancouver summits.

Ryan McElroy, CEO of Travel Agency Tribes, will also present an interactive session discussing modern technology tools that drive sales, efficiency, and customer engagement.

By taking advantage of new and easy-to-use technology tools, attendees can reimagine and redesign how they connect, consult and deliver travel services. In this session, attendees will learn about new technologies, techniques, and easily executable tactics.

This will also take place at the Toronto and Vancouver summits.

Power of Specialization: Work less, Earn More is a panel discussion sharing the secrets of focusing attention on high yield clients and travel products. This is happening at all three summits.

Travel advisors are invited to attend and the summits are complimentary for ACTA members.

Non-member travel agents are asked to consider making a contribution to ACTA’s Advocacy Fund.

Registration includes access to the full-day summit and trade show, with plated lunch and networking reception with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
