Are you a travel agency owner/manager? Take ACTA’s total compensation & benefits survey

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) launched a new industry survey Wednesday (June 15), inviting all travel agency owners and managers to report on the soft benefits of being a travel agency employee.

“As we navigate recovery and continue our advocacy efforts with governments in addressing labour challenges, it is critical that we have a fulsome picture of total compensation and benefits of travel agents across Canada,” said Wendy Paradis, ACTA’s president, in a statement Wednesday (June 15).

The previous total compensation and benefits survey was conducted in 2014, and based on member feedback, ACTA is now seeking to update with 2019 data.

The data is “an integral part” of ACTA’s strategy to lobby governments to invest in travel agencies by demonstrating that the travel sector offers strong employment opportunities, the association said.

Further, this data is valuable to travel agencies as they work to attract new talent and review their compensation policies.

Complete survey by June 30

ACTA is asking all travel agency owners/managers to complete the 2022 Total Compensation and Benefits by June 30.

ACTA is also actively engaged in a comprehensive study with multiple stakeholders on independent travel agent compensation, which includes host agencies and independent travel agents.

This particular survey focuses on travel agencies and runs concurrently with ACTA’s other compensation studies.
