Emirates Airline continues to fly high in Canada, as its Dubai Stopover Program reaches the one year milestone.

In its first year in market, the hotel and sightseeing package has exceeded sales targets by an average of 50 per cent across the country, with strong growth from Western Canada.

Last year, Emirates appointed Kompas Express the official provider of the Dubai Stopover package for Canada, providing both passengers and travel agents with the ability to book with a local contact in Canada.

“The Dubai Stopover Program has been very successful in Canada and we’re thrilled to offer travelers the opportunity to explore one of the world’s great cities before their holidays even begin,” said Don McWilliam, manager Canada, Emirates. “Canadians appreciate a one-stop package that offers a wide range of accommodations, UAE visa support and first class service on the ground and in-flight aboard the world’s most technologically advanced aircraft, the Emirates A380.”

For Canadians travelling to Dubai and beyond each year, the program offers hotel stays from US$39 per person per night, and passengers can choose from a range of hotels and apartments – in the city or on the beach, self-catered to six-star luxury.

According to Kompas Express, Canadians have booked a variety of accommodations as part of the program with the following proving to be the most popular choices:the best-selling luxury hotel, Sofitel Jumeirah Beach; the best-selling hotel in the four-star category, Ascot Hotel; and the best-selling low-priced hotel, Holiday Inn Dubai International Airport.

The Dubai Stopover Package’s best-selling feature was the adrenaline rush inducing “Dune Safari by 4x4” followed by the romantic “Dinner Under the Arabian Stars.”

“It’s been an exciting year working with Emirates to make Dubai a more accessible travel destination for Canadians,” said Kompas Express President, Robert Zuzek. “The success of this program has rested on a strong partnership and a spectacular product punctuated by personalized service.”

Other hotels offered as part of the package include Dubai’s desert conservation reserve, the Al Maha Resort & Spa; the Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa set along a spectacular shoreline; and the Armani Hotel.

The Dubai Stopover package also includes specialized UAE visa service via Emirates airline’s fulfilment centre, personalized meet-and-assist in Dubai, including quick and efficient ‘red jacket’ escort through immigration and hotel transfers.

The Dubai Stopover offer is available to all Emirates passengers and combinable with all fares. It is not restricted to any specific class of travel.

Passengers on Emirates may take advantage of a stopover package on both the inbound or outbound leg of their journey, offering two opportunities to experience the hospitality and vibrancy of Dubai, the proud home of Emirates airline.

Kompas Express acts as the fulfilment partner for the Emirates Dubai Stopover Packages, allowing both passengers and travel agents the ability to have and book with a local contact.
