Travellers flying with WestJet can now place an offer for an opportunity to upgrade to Business or Premium cabin on eligible flights, the airline has announced.

Any time after booking a flight and up to five days (120 hours) before departure, passengers can submit an offer to upgrade, which can be modified or cancelled if it has not been accepted up to five days before departure.

WestJet will notify passengers whether the offer was accepted no later than five days prior to departure; if accepted, the passenger’s credit card will be charged the offer amount (passengers’ credit cards will be charged only upon acceptance of the offer) and they will be able to select their seat in the upgraded cabin at time of check-in.

Good to know

Although passengers will be seated in either Premium or Business when their upgrade is accepted, the fare conditions of the original ticket remain unchanged, including cancellation policies, flight change and same day change fees.

If a Premium upgrade offer is accepted, the baggage allowance of the original fare will apply to the upgraded flight; if a Business upgrade offer is accepted, a passenger may check up to a maximum of two checked bags.
