Copa Airlines was recently recognized by Cirium, a leading aviation data analysis company, as “The Most Punctual Airline in Latin America” for the eighth consecutive year, registering a punctuality index of 90.25 per cent, in a total of 44,126 flights in 2021.

“It is a great honour for us to be recognized for the eighth consecutive year as the most punctual airline in Latin America, also standing out with the highest index in the Americas. This recognition is the result of the work, effort and dedication that each of the members of the Copa Airlines team carries out daily, once again uplifting Panama’s name and reinforcing our commitment to connect the Americas in a safe and reliable way,” said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines.

"The punctuality of our flights and safety of the crew and passengers are two of the main differentiating elements of Copa Airlines, which, with this distinction, maintains its position as the only airline in the world to lead a region for so many years in a row.“

Cirium recognized Copa Airlines as the most on-time airline in Latin America for 2021. Copa Airlines says it has made a strong recovery and operated its expanding flight schedules at a very high level of on-time performance last year, with 90.25 per cent of its flights on time.

“Cirium is delighted to recognize Copa Airlines as the most on-time airline in LatinAmerica for 2021. Copa Airlines has made a strong recovery and operated its expanding flight schedules at a very high level of on-time performance last year, with 90.25 per cent of its flights on time. Congratulations to the Copa Airlines team” said Jeremy Bowen, CEO at Cirium.

In Cirium's "The 2021 On Time Performance (OTP) Review" report, all the data presented has been compiled and curated from more than 600 sources of real-time flight information, including the airlines themselves, some airports, global distribution systems, position data and Civil Aviation Authorities.

Eligibility for OTP review requires an actual arrival time data coverage requirement of 80 per cent for all airline categories.

Despite the restrictions and obstacles imposed by the pandemic, Copa Airlines is gradually recovering, aiming to reach in 2022 close to 90 per cent of the traffic it maintained in 2019.

Currently, the airline has 72 active aircraft and operates an average of 275 daily flights through the Hub of the Americas, the hub with the most international flights in the region.

Located at the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, this hub is one of the top 10 airports in the world according to ForwardKeys data, and from which Copa Airlines connects to more than 70 cities in 30 countries in North, Central and South America and Caribbean.
