Azores Airlines announces new direct flights out of YYZ & YUL

Azores Airlines, which offers year-round, non-stop service to the Azores, will offer up to 10 weekly flights to the Portugal island region this summer.

In addition to year-round Toronto-Ponta Delgada service, the airline will operate new non-stop service from Toronto to Terceira.

Flights will operate Tuesdays from March 29 to May 31, and October 3 to 24, and twice weekly Thursday & Sundays between June 1 and September 28.

From Montreal, travellers will have the choice of non-stop service to Terceira every Tuesday from June 13 to Sept. 19, or weekly Saturday service to Ponta Delgada from June 17 to Sept. 23.

New this year is the option for a day-time flight experience. Sunday flights from Toronto to Terceira and Montreal flights to Terceira and Ponta Delgada will operate during the day.

Easily accessible (less that 5 1/2 hrs away) and affordable, Terceira and Sao Miguel are gateways to other Azorean islands, plus year-round activities such as hiking, diving, snorkeling, whale watching, swimming with dolphins, canyoning, golfing, and kayaking/paddle boarding.

For more relaxing activities, there’s culture and history, wine, and gastronomy in Terceira’ Angra do Heroismo, UNESCO World Heritage city, or relax in natural thermal pools.

Peak summer flights to Terceira will be operated by A330 aircraft, while Ponta Delgada flights will be operated by the fuel efficient A321 Neo and NeoLR aircraft.

Two classes of service are available: economy and business, including lie-flat beds in business class on A330 Terceira flights. A variety of fare options are available including free checked baggage or sports equipment and free stopover for up to seven days in the Azores.
