Air France inaugurates new bright & elegant lounge at YUL

This week, Air France inaugurated a new airport lounge, in the brand's identity colours, at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL).

PAX joined nearly 70 clients and partners at an event at YUL on Sept. 22. 

“The new lounge, of which we are very proud, is a symbol for us. This is the very expression that Air France is investing in the future and continuing to invest in the customer experience," said Henri de Peyrelongue, deputy general manager for air sales at Air France – KLM, speaking in French. 

The airline's investments are currently focused on the renewal of its fleet, its on-board connectivity and the experience in its lounges in France and around the world, he said.

The company's first Airbus 220 will also soon arrive in Montreal and be unveiled in Paris on Sept. 29. 

Also present was CEO of Aéroports de Montréal, Philippe Rainville, who did not hide his enthusiasm for the completely renewed lounge.

“Its reopening is one of the markers of the resumption of Montreal-Trudeau airport activity, which is carried out in accordance with the highest health and safety standards,” he said, speaking in French. 

Air France-KML Canada general manager, Catherine Guillemart-Dias, praised the management of the project, entrusted to Premium Plaza Group. 

“From the sketch to the realization of the show, only four months have passed. It was a great challenge and a real challenge for the teams in the context of COVID," she said. 

Elegant and bright 

The new Air France lounge features the brand's latest image, in the company's colours, with blue armchairs, red benches, grey chairs, white tables and elegant and neat lighting from renowned Montreal manufacturer Lambert & Fils. .

The space is uncluttered and bright with several dining areas and a large space where there is a self-service buffet which offers an offer centered around French cuisine. 

Special attention is paid to vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. As for the bar, a selection of French wines and champagnes is available there.

Night Service

In the fall, the space will offer a Night Service to Business customers travelling between Montreal and Paris, on the last evening flight, in order to anticipate their desire for rest.

This offer anticipates the desire for rest of Business customers travelling from Montreal to Paris on the last evening flight. They can choose to enjoy in the lounge a real French-style gourmet meal, identical to that served on board, with in-seat restaurant-style service.

During the flight, they can then enjoy their night on board to the full. 

If they make the request, their meal tray will not be loaded on the flight to limit food waste. 

Customers who wish to do so will still be able to enjoy another meal on board.

New Montreal - Pointe-à-Pitre link

Air France took advantage of the inauguration of its new lounge to announce a new service between Montreal and Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe.

On November 23, the Montreal stopover will welcome a first flight from Pointe-à-Pitre.

The connection will then be carried out until the end of March at the rate of two frequencies per week.

The lounge, in brief 

  • Located between gate 55 and 57 of the international zone, the lounge has a capacity of 149 seats;
  • Open daily from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. for Air France and KLM customers. Access is free for Business and Flying Blue Elite Plus customers. One of the advantages of this new concept is the possibility for passengers traveling in Economy  or Premium Economy cabins to purchase lounge access depending on availability;
  • Flying Blue Ultimate customers have a more private space with large sofas and armchairs;
  • Water fountains are available to customers rather than plastic bottles, an approach that is part of the Horizon 2030 sustainable development plan. 
  • A space allows you to shower or cool off before your trip and attention has been paid to eco-responsible products.
