Travel Professionals International (TPI) is emerging out of the COVID-19 pandemic with a corporate name change: Trevello Travel Group.
The news was shared on Monday (May 2) with some 180 travel advisors and 35 suppliers at TPI’s 2022 conference, “Unlock Your Future,” which is currently taking place at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres in north Cancun until May 6.
Trevello refers to someone who is a natural leader, independent, individualistic, extremely ambitious, original and courageous – which is “everything that you guys are,” said Zeina Gedeon, CEO of TPI, addressing the conference’s delegation at Monday’s opening session.
“TPI Travel,” to be clear, is not disappearing, Gedeon confirmed, reminding agents that the new name will not impact their own branding.
“We’re creating a ‘mother company,’” Gedeon said, saying that the shift is part of a long-term plan to expand into the United States.
“After what we went through over the last year, we had to evolve,” she said. “We needed to make this change in order to reflect the new company we are and what you represent.”
“It’s time to evolve as a company and for us to build on the amazing fundamentals of our support team and advisors.”
As the industry enters a new era of travel, Trevello will be aimed at evolving and growing for the needs of the modern travel entrepreneur, allowing advisors to take their careers to new heights.
The new purple logo, which was a year-and-a-half in the making, and underwent several drafts and revisions, will not impact TPI’s current team led by Gedeon and her colleagues.
As well, the new name is “just the beginning,” Gedeon said, noting that “a lot of other changes” at TPI will be announced in the coming months in regards to technology and advisor compensation.
“Everything we do is driven by helping our advisors succeed. We believe this next chapter will open many new infinite opportunities and possibilities for today’s travel entrepreneurs,” said Gedeon. “We’ve got big plans and we knew that to achieve these plans, we needed to make ourselves uncomfortable and ensure we were ideally situated to expand our position as the pre-eminent host agency where the needs of our advisors are fulfilled.”
This is a developing story.
