Travel Leaders Network’s international conference EDGE (Educate, Discover, Gather, Evolve) officially began Sunday (June 12) with more than 1,500 attendees consisting of its travel advisor members, staff and supplier partners.

Held at Aurora, Colorado’s The Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center, the conference offers attendees the chance to learn, network with supplier partners and connect with other travel advisors from TLN.

The conference takes place from June 12-15, 2022.

Prior to EDGE’s official opening, the Luxury Leaders Alliance, TLN’s exclusive group for its top luxury sellers held an intensive one-day learning event on June 11.

The Luxury Leaders Alliance members participating in this symposium had access to luxury air, cruise, tour and hotel suppliers with content devoted exclusively to the luxury travel advisor’s needs.

Travel Leaders Network’s other Alliance, the Host Agency Leaders Alliance, also held a daylong conference on June 11, with content geared towards bringing together leading hosts in the consortia for networking and education.

EDGE’s keynote speaker for 2022 is the pioneering Bruce Poon Tip, founder of G Adventures and the Planeterra Foundation.

Most recently, Poon Tip is credited as the executive producer of the new documentary film, The Last Tourist, which is now available to view on-demand.

EDGE will hold multiple General Sessions to announce new programs and tools for TLN members.

Attendees will have their choice of more than 200 workshops taught across a variety of topics, a trade show, and an Experience Lounge for appointments with Travel Leaders Network staff experts.

EDGE also features three new events this year: Destination Connections, where advisors can meet with Tourism Board Partners in small-group appointments, Hotel & In-Country Partner Marketplace, and a gala dinner to honor EDGE award winners and those who have achieved a TLN Specialist Certification this year.

“EDGE 2022 is going to be an amazing conference,” said Roger E. Block, president of Travel Leaders Network. “As the travel industry continues is remarkable recovery, EDGE is a time to celebrate all that TLN members have achieved and that the best is yet to come. It is also a valuable opportunity for TLN members to get ideas and gain connections that can help them as they bring their travel agencies to greater success.”

“By the time EDGE concludes, I have no doubt that Travel Leaders Network members will be heading home not only with great memories of a fun time, but with ideas they can use to build their businesses.”

Holland America Line cruises for all!

On Monday (June 13), conference attendees were surprised with a special announcement: Holland America Line offered every travel advisor in attendance (and a guest) a complimentary Alaska cruise for the 2022 season.

“Holland American Line is an amazing partner,” said John Lovell, president of Travel Leaders Group, who was on stage with the cruise line during the announcement. “They strongly believe in the importance of the travel advisor and the travel agency distribution channel, in addition to having a fantastic product. I am so happy that EDGE attendees will have the chance to experience it. On behalf of everyone at Travel Leaders Network, I thank Holland America Line for its partnership and this generous gift.”

EDGE attendees will have their pick of HAL’s Alaska cruises through the end of the 2022 season in October.

Holland America Line’s Alaska cruises are known for their old-world elegance, high-touch service and unique Alaska offerings.

“As we celebrate our 75th anniversary this year, we can’t wait to welcome Travel Leaders Network advisors on board,” said Michelle Sutter, vice-president of sales of Holland America Line. “The best way to sell a product is to experience it for yourself, whether these advisors are sailing with us for the first or hundredth time, I know that they will have a wonderful time on our ships and exploring the beautiful and unmatched Alaskan wilderness.”
