TICO defers fee payments for 90 days

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has implemented an additional measure to alleviate the financial strain on registrants due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, implementing a 90-day fee deferral effective immediately.

The 90-day deferral applies to fees payable for the following periods/year-ends:

• Jan 31 – deferred until July 31 from April 30
• Feb 28 – deferred until Aug 31 from May 31
• March 31 – deferred until Sept. 30 from June 30

There is no action required by registrants to qualify for the above deferral. For registrants who have already remitted fees for a prior period, or for the above periods, TICO will not accept requests for refunds and appreciates your continued support and understanding.

Renewal applications and Compensation Fund assessments forms must continue to be submitted to TICO on-time, consistent with required reporting timelines to support continued registration under the Travel Industry Act. Registrants are asked to refrain from using couriers to send in forms and to use email or regular mail instead.

Registrants who may otherwise be remitting payment are strongly encouraged to use online banking through their financial institution.
