Multiple-JUNO award winner Jim Cuddy is headlining a Danube River cruise, hosted by Stewart Travel Group in November 2020.
This announcement came as Paula and Travis Stewart, co-founders of the award-winning, island-based travel agency, celebrated their fifth year in business.
Stewart Travel Group hosts 15 exclusive tours each year, and Cuddy is only one of the familiar names to be involved in their 2020 lineup. Other notable tours include a Scotland Tour and Crystal River Cruise with former CTV Canada AM anchor, Jeff Hutcheson, and an Ireland Tour with Kevin “Boomer” Gallant, former CBC Compass weather specialist and well-known Island personality.
Setting sail next November
The week-long Jim Cuddy–Danube River cruise sets sail Nov. 4, 2020, and includes stops in Budapest, Hungary and Nuremberg, Germany.
Cuddy is best known for his Blue Rodeo fame, but the Canadian musician has also enjoyed a thriving career as a solo artist. Joining him on stage during the cruise will be award-winning fiddler, violinist, and vocalist, Anne Lindsay, who is also a featured performer of The Jim Cuddy band, as well as Cuddy’s sons, Devin Cuddy, who frontlines The Devin Cuddy band, and Sam Polley, of Sam Polley and The Old Tomorrows.
The event also includes an optional intimate fundraising dinner with Cuddy, Lindsay, Cuddy, and Polley, for PEI’s Stars for Life Foundation for Autism.
“Stewart Travel Group has been known for a while now for our hosted experiences,” says Paula Stewart. “With the launch of the Jim Cuddy–Danube River tour, we’re upping the hosting experience.”
A five-year legacy
The PEI-based travel agency has gained a reputation for quality travel experiences over their five years in operation.
They’ve grown from one advisor to sixteen and have won numerous awards, including many Top Agency and Advisor awards in Canada (with The Travel Agent Next Door) 2016, 2017, and 2018—beating out roughly 400 agencies across the country. They’ve also won national awards with Transat, Globus/Avalon Waterways, Manulife, Crystal Cruises, Gateways International, and Regent Seven Seas.
“While we’re located in PEI, we also have trusted travel advisors in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick,” adds Travis Stewart, who was the original solo advisor when Stewart Travel Group first opened in 2014. “Our mandate is to provide exceptional travel experiences while supporting our communities.”
Speaking of the Stars for Life Foundation fundraiser portion of the cruise, Travis Stewart says, “Giving back to our community is just part of the culture at Stewart Travel Group. We are proud to support the autism community in this way.” The group has helped raise funds for United Way of PEI, the Youth Program at Confederation Centre of the Arts, the Hillsborough Rotary Club, and Camp Gencheff.
According to Stewart, in the last year alone, they gave away trips valued at $15,000.
