Canadian travel agents attending The Travel Agent Next Door’s (TTAND) national conference in Mexico this week had an opportunity to tour and dine on a sunset-soaked beach at AMResort’s latest acquisition: the Reflect Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta.

The all-inclusive property, set to a mountainous backdrop in Banderas Bay, is located in the resort community of Nuevo Vallarta, which is about 20 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport.

"Unlimited Luxury" with AMResorts

AMResorts re-branded and renovated the site after signing a strategic alliance with Grupo Hotelero’s Krystal Grand division last year.

“This area has one of the nicest beaches. It’s very long and sandy,” Brian Joseph, business development manager for Ontario at AMResorts, told PAX at Tuesday’s night event, which was hosted by WestJet Vacations.

As was announced in July last year, Reflect Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta is part of AMResort’s “Unlimited Luxury” brand. It’s one of three luxury all-inclusive properties (the other two are in Punta Cancun and Los Cabos).

“The resort is filled with activities for the spirited traveller,” Joseph told PAX. The “spirited traveller,” that being, someone “who’ll go to a destination and get what they want out of that vacation,” Joseph explained.

“If they want to relax, they can. If they want to do a wellness trip, like yoga, they’ll find that here as well,” he said.

Cooking classes, cultural excursions and beach parties are all part of the experience as well.

Travel agents attending TTAND’s conference, its fifth annual, were given the option of touring some of the Reflect Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta’s rooms and amenities after indulging in a decadent buffet that was built directly on resort’s beachfront, where guests enjoyed an epic sunset

For Joseph, it was a valuable opportunity to show off one of AMResort’s newest projects to some of Canada’s most discerning travel agents.

“Reflect is our newest brand, so hosting an evening at the Reflect Nuevo Vallarta along with WestJet, and hearing so much positive feedback and excitement, reinforces the value of our partnership,” Joseph told PAX.

The event also gave Joseph an opportunity to mix and mingle with some of TTAND’s home-based agents and agencies.

BEACH PARTY. Travel agents attending TTAND’s conference were treated to a decadent buffet on the beach Tuesday night.

“As an approved supplier with TTAND, I value time getting to know these quality agents better and working with them to ensure they understand AMResorts,” Joseph said. “The partnership is strong and together we see growth.THUMBS UP. Leah Irvine, manager of commercial accounts at WestJet Airlines and WestJet Vacations, was thrilled to be involved.

“It was such a pleasure attending the TTAND conference,” Irvine told PAX. “The environment was perfect and set the stage, which allowed me to interact with the consultants and the team at TTAND. I was honoured to be a part of it.”

Before the night’s entertainment – a colourful show of traditional Mexican dances and costumes – began, AMResorts and WestJet played a game of “heads or tails” whereby the last travel agent standing would win a stay at the Reflect Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta, air included.

That prize went to TTAND’s Renee Gancasz, who is based in Ontario.
